What the Megaways Edition Does Differently
Take the fishing theme, remove the fixed grid, and you have this edition. Reels arrive taller or shorter than they were a moment ago, the count of symbols riding on each one moves with them, and a fresh total of winning combinations is worked out before every result is settled. Cash fish still stop at 4,000 times the wager, and a fisherman still does the gathering.
Free Spin Entries From Three Scatters to Six
| Scatters | Free spins |
|---|---|
| 3 | 10 |
| 4 | 15 |
| 5 | 20 |
| 6 | 25 |
Nowhere else in the range can a sixth scatter land, and the twenty five spin entry it produces is the most valuable thing about this edition. Collection steps are reached only by extending a feature, so a counter that opens that high leaves real room for a fourth, eighth or twelfth fisherman to turn up before the spins run out.

Matching Symbols on Neighbouring Reels
Nothing here runs along a fixed line. A payout is credited when identical symbols occupy reels that sit side by side, provided the run begins on the leftmost reel, and the row each of them lands in is irrelevant. Because reel heights are redrawn constantly, the very same three symbols can be worth one small amount on a cramped spin and a good deal more on a generous one.
What Extra Positions Do for a Gather
Room is the genuine argument for coming here. A stretched set of reels can hold more loaded fish in view simultaneously, so one fisherman arriving at the right moment sweeps a bigger total than a rigid arrangement of fifteen positions is physically able to display. Put the 2x, 3x and 10x steps on top of that and the best single gather this edition can produce sits well above the original.
The Trade Off in Rhythm
Cramped spins are the price. They appear frequently, they return almost nothing, and together they make the session feel less even than the fixed layout titles despite a return percentage in much the same region. Anyone who values a steady pulse will notice that quickly, and disliking it is a matter of taste rather than a flaw in the game.
Free Euro Demo
This page runs the edition against a simulated euro balance served by Pragmatic Play, with no account and nothing to deposit. Fifteen minutes of it settles the only question worth asking, which is whether a set of reels that refuses to stay still keeps you interested or wears you out.
Choosing Between This and the Original
Come here for the longest entry and the biggest single gather. Stay with the original if ten fixed lines and a familiar frame were the appeal in the first place. And if the thing you really want is a feature that begins in improved condition, Big Bass Splash delivers that far more reliably than a taller set of reels ever will.
Before Playing for Real
Work out how many spins you want from the session, set the wager from that figure, and go through the wagering conditions on any welcome offer. An operator can be chosen from the list on this page, and the edition sits in the Pragmatic Play catalogue under its full name. Players must be 18 or older.
Common questions
How does a payout form without lines?
Matching symbols must sit on neighbouring reels starting from the leftmost. Rows are irrelevant, and the number of ways is recalculated each spin.
What is the longest feature entry?
Six scatters award 25 free spins; three, four and five award 10, 15 and 20.
How much can one cash fish carry?
Up to 4,000 times the wager.
What is the return to player?
96.70% in the standard configuration. Reduced ones exist, so read the rules screen at the operator you use.
Do the collection steps work the same way?
Yes. Every fourth fisherman gathered adds ten spins and lifts collections to 2x, then 3x, then 10x.
Is there a euro demo of the Megaways edition?
Yes. It opens on this page against a simulated euro balance with no account.
